The IMCB22 is being organised by the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in cooperation with Metropolis International. It is being held from 4 to 9 September 2022 in Berlin.
The IMCB22 is aimed at the scientific community as well as experts from the political, business and civil society arenas who are involved with issues related to migration and integration. The official confirmation of your registration for the event by the organiser is prerequisite for participation. Registration will be possible from late April 2022 via the conference website.
Questions can be directed to the conference’s organisation team or to Metropolis International.
The IMCB22 will take place as a hybrid event (in-person event at the bcc Berlin Congress Center with digital access to certain parts of the conference).
Information on our conference website and via our newsletter will keep you up to date on the status of planning.
The conference’s working language will be English. Interpreters will be available for German and French.
Sign language interpretation is planned for the main conference events.
For the first time, a pre-conference process (PCP) was planned; which started in December 2021. As part of this, four pre-working groups (PWG) have turned their attention to the conference’s main themes. The task force team of the IMCB22 is organising the PCP concerning the themes of COVID-19 (PWG 1) and fair migration (PWG 4). The activities within PWG 2 (digitalisation, migration and the future of work) and PWG 3 (impacts of climate change on migration) are coordinated and supervised by the networking unit “Paradigm Shift”, which runs under the auspices of Technische Universität Berlin. The aim of the process is initiating an exchange of knowledge and experience among renowned academics and experts from politics, business and civil society in order to make a sound contribution to the preparation of the content of the conference. Until July 2022, the PCP’s core will be webinars, which are one-hour events and involve the PWGs’ members as well as external partners. The results of the PWGs’ work is supposed to flow into the conference and to help identify possible results or recommendations for action.
We will be keeping you up to date on the status of the PCP and the upcoming webinars on our website and via our newsletter and the IMCB22 Twitter channel.
The IMCB22 will offer an attractive and varied programme of workshops. The electronic process for submitting workshop concepts has been online since December 2021. Not only can workshops be submitted, participating with an individual paper or poster is also possible.
All speakers are required to register for the conference by buying a ticket through the regular process to ensure their abstracts are included in the programme and to guarantee their attendance. Registering this way is also necessary for participants whose individual papers or posters have been approved and wish to be at the conference (the decision to include a poster in the program remains unaffected by the ticket purchase). Here, it is possible to buy either a ticket for the entire conference or a ticket for the respective day of the attendee’s presentation/participation. If you are interested in holding a workshop at the IMCB22 or submitting a paper or poster, you will find all the important details on our website.
