Roberto Vidal

Roberto Vidal is a lawyer with a degree in history from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He also holds a PhD in Law. He was a full professor and director of the Department of Philosophy and History of Law and of the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies – Pensar – at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He is a consultant for the United Nations System in Colombia and the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

He held the presidency of the International Association for the Study of Forced Migration (IASFM) and the University Network for Peace (RED UNIPAZ). He was a member of Colombia's National Peace Council representing universities and higher education entities.

Since 2018 he has been Magistrate of the Tribunal of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia.
